Exhaust terminology explained

Axle-back. These systems usually consist of the muffler/back box and a short piece of pipe to connect to the stock system, near the rear axle. Often the cheapest option.

Cat-back. This system includes extra pipe, and extends to the catalytic converter.

Turbo-back. This is a comprehensive system for turbocharged cars, and is a full system coming all the way from the turbo.

Header-back. Similar to a turbo-back, but for non-turbo cars, starting at the header pipes.

De-cat/test pipe. A piece of pipe which replaces the catalytic converter to improve power and reduce restriction. These are not legal for road use, and are for track cars only.
